Faxing (Administration Functions)

 

 

Viewing Fax Transmission Status

 

Precondition: Your role has permissions to access admin functions in Health Desk.

 

  1. Click Messaging Reports on the menu bar. 



 

 

  1. Set the desired timeframe in the fields under ‘Start Date’ and ‘End Date’ and click Filter Dates.  (Note: The longer the time period set in the filters, the longer it will take for the search to return results.)

 

 

 

   

 

Re-Faxing an Encounter

 

Preconditions: Your role has permissions to access admin functions in Health Desk and an attempt to fax the encounter was made.

 

1.    Find the encounter’s fax transmission status (see Viewing Fax Transmission Status).

 

2.    Click the Encounter ID.  (Note: The encounter will open in another tab.)

 

 

  1. Scroll down and click Re-Open.

 

 

  1. Type the reason for re-opening the encounter in the notes field in the pop-up window.   Click Re-Open Encounter.

 

  1. In Communication Summary, click the appropriate checkbox (‘Patient Consents’ – patient has explicitly given consent to faxing the encounter to selected provider; ‘Override Consent’ – patient has not consented to faxing the encounter to selected provider but per organizational policy encounter has to be faxed).

 

 

  1. Click Close and Send.
